2010 Cal State L.A. Women’s Track and Field – Season Summary
 
Cal State L.A.’s women’s track and field team enjoyed another successful season in 2010. The Golden Eagles finished third in the California Collegiate Athletic Association and placed 38th in the nation in the NCAA Division II Championships.
 
The Golden Eagles were coming off a sensational 2009 season that saw them place seventh in the nation and second in the CCAA.
 
Cal State L.A. earned three All-America honors in 2010, two of them from senior sprinter Moriah Jubrey. She finished sixth in the 200 and seventh in the 100, giving her three All-America honors in 2010 (one also in the indoor 4x400) and seven All-America awards in her Cal State L.A. career.
 
Sophomore Tuekeha Huntley earned the third All-America award for the Golden Eagles after a sensational performance in the heptathlon. Huntley set a new Cal State L.A. record with 5,126 points and finished eighth in the nation. She surpassed her previous best mark by 174 points. She entered the competition with the 14th-best total in the country.
 
Cal State L.A. also earned one individual CCAA championship when Jamilah St. Cyr won the shot put. St. Cyr had a spectacular meet and earned All-Conference honors in three individual events. She also placed third in the 100 hurdles and second in the javelin. St. Cyr was also part of the 4x100 relay team that finished second in the conference.
 
Jubrey earned a pair of second-team All-CCAA honors after finishing second in the 100 and 200. She also was part of the 4x100 relay team (St. Cyr, Jubrey, Brittany Manuel, Michelle Vaughner) that took second in the conference and the 4x400 relay (Manuel, Alisha Belt, Jubrey and Jennifer Shoate) that also placed second in the conference.
 
The Golden Eagles picked up 101 1/3 points at the conference meet to finish behind only Chico State and UC San Diego.
 
The top three finishers in each event earned All-CCAA honors.

2010 Recap: Cal State L.A.’s women’s track and field team had another strong showing, finishing third in the CCAA and securing a top-three conference finish for the sixth time in the last seven years. The Golden Eagles also earned three All-America awards after Tuekeha Huntley finished eighth in the heptathlon and Moriah Jubrey took sixth in the 200 and seventh in the 100.
