ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Cal State L.A.'s women's indoor track and field team didn't perform as well as it would have liked at the NCAA Division II Championships, but the Golden Eagles still managed to leave the event with some All-America honors.
In the last event of the championships, the Golden Eagles' 4x400 relay team of
Brittany Manuel,
Shianne Smith,
Jennifer Shoate and
Moriah Jubrey finished eighth to earn Cal State L.A. its only point of the meet.
Jubrey had the fastest leg of the relay, closing with a 56.21 to lift the Golden Eagles to an eighth-place finish. Manuel led off for the Golden Eagles and was followed by Smith, Shoate and Jubrey.
Earlier, Smith dropped out of the pentathlon after two events and was unable to earn All-America recognition.
