Wadeck Finishes 7th In NCAA Division II Championships

EVANSVILLE, IN -- Cal State L.A.'s Vivien Wadeck turned in another sensational performance Saturday in the NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championships at Southern Indiana University. Wadeck finished seventh and turned in the best performance for a Cal State L.A. runner since 1994. Her time over a 6,000-meter course was 21:02.8 and she earned All-America honors for a second straight season.

SAN FRANCISCO – Cal State L.A.’s women’s cross country team concluded its season with an eighth-place finish at the NCAA Division II West Regional, but No. 1 runner Vivien Wadeck will be moving on to nationals. Wadeck finished 10^th overall and was one of two runners from non-qualifying teams to earn a trip to the NCAA Division II Championships. The nationals will be held on Nov. 21 in Evansville, Ind.

Golden Eagles Set For A Run At NCAA West Regionals

LOS ANGELES – Cal State L.A.’s women’s cross country team will head to San Francisco this weekend in search of its fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA Championships. The Golden Eagles, who finished fourth in the California Collegiate Athletic Association championships on Oct. 24, will need to finish in the top four of Saturday’s NCAA West Regional hosted by San Francisco State to advance to nationals. Cal State L.A. has earned national top-15 finishes the past three years.

Wadeck Wins CCAA TItle; Golden Eagles Finish Fourth

McKINLEYVILLE -- Cal State L.A.'s women's cross country team saw one of its runners claim an individual California Collegiate Athletic Association title for a third straight year, while the team placed fourth. Vivien Wadeck was a repeat CCAA champion and she did it in dominating fashion, finishing 21 seconds ahead of the closest pursuer. The Golden Eagles, though, saw their four-year run of placing in the top two of the conference come to an end.

No. 25 Golden Eagles Set For CCAA Championships

LOS ANGELES – Cal State L.A.’s women’s cross country team will head to Northern California this weekend for the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships. The Golden Eagles, ranked sixth in the West Region and 25^th in the nation, will face 10 other conference schools Saturday in the meet that will be hosted by Humboldt State and contested at Beau Pre Golf Course in McKinleyville.

Golden Eagles Get In Final Tuneup Race Before CCAA Meet

NORTHRIDGE – Cal State L.A.’s women’s cross country team got its final tuneup for the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships by running in the Cal State Northridge Invitational Friday night. Vivien Wadeck finished 11^th in a field of 107 after covering a 5,000-meter course at Balboa Park in 18:26.76. Wadeck is the reigning CCAA Runner of the Week after winning the Vanguard Invitational last Saturday.

Wadeck won the weekly conference honors for the second time this season and for the fifth time in her Cal State L.A. cross country career. She won it three times last season.

No. 20 Golden Eagles Get A Winning Race From Wadeck

COSTA MESA -- Cal State L.A.'s women's cross country team got another winning performance from returning All-American Vivien Wadeck and a fifth-place overall finish Saturday at the Vanguard Invitational. Wadeck, the defending California Collegiate Athletic Association individual champion, covered a 5K course at Fairview Park in Costa Mesa in 17:23. She finished 20 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
