LA JOLLA -- Cal State L.A.'s men's basketball team surrendered the first eight points of the game and never fully recovered Saturday night in a California Collegiate Athletic Association contest. The Golden Eagles eventually fell behind by as many as 18 points and lost to UC San Diego, 83-77, Saturday night in RIMAC Arena. Cal State L.A. was forced to settle for a road split this week.

HAYWARD -- Cal State L.A.'s men's basketball team came up big down the stretch and finally put away a pesky Cal State East Bay squad. The Golden Eagles fought back from an eight-point second-half deficit and outlasted the Pioneers, 70-64, Thursday night in a California Collegiate Athletic Association game in Hayward. Cal State L.A. (12-8, 8-7 CCAA) snapped a three-game losing streak with the win.

The Golden Eagles lost for the third time in four games with a disappointing 64-60 California Collegiate Athletic Association defeat to Sonoma State Friday in the Eagles Nest. Cal State L.A. led early by nine points, fell behind by as many as 10 points in the second half and saw a late rally come up short.

The Golden Eagles were completely stymied by Cal State Dominguez Hills and fell to the Toros, 62-45, Wednesday night in the Eagles Nest. Cal State L.A. shot 26.7 percent from the field and was forced to settle for a season’s split with Cal State Dominguez Hills.

TURLOCK -- One night after letting one slip away, Cal State L.A.'s men's basketball team made sure to secure a victory on Saturday night. The Golden Eagles used a stingy defense and some clutch free-throw shooting down the stretch to hold off Cal State Stanislaus, 51-44, Saturday night in a California Collegiate Athletic Association game in Warrior Arena. Cal State L.A. (11-5, 7-4 CCAA) remained in a three-way tie for third place in the conference.

CHICO -- Cal State L.A.'s men's basketball team was unable to preserve a late lead in a big California Collegiate Athletic Association contest at Chico State. The Golden Eagles were blanked over the final two minutes, while Chico State was perfect on four free-throw attempts and beat Cal State L.A., 62-61, Friday in Acker Gym. Cal State L.A. (12-5, 6-4 CCAA) slipped back into a third-place tie in the CCAA with Chico State (9-8, 10-5 CCAA) and two others.
