LOS ANGELES – Cal State L.A.’s women’s basketball team has added freshman guard Karmen Gunn to its program, Golden Eagle head coach Janell Jones announced on Thursday. Gunn, a 5-foot-7 point guard from Luella High School (GA), helped her teams reach the Georgia state playoffs in all four years of her high-school career.

LOS ANGELES – Cal State L.A.’s women’s basketball team has added junior guard Lorin Hammer to its program, Golden Eagle head coach Janell Jones announced on Thursday. Hammer, a 5-foot-4-inch guard, played the past two seasons for Mercer University. She appeared in 27 games last year as a sophomore and played in a total of 35 games in her two years at Mercer.

Amber Coleman, a 6-foot-2-inch forward from Mercer University, has joined the Cal State L.A. program, Jones said. Coleman appeared in 28 games last season for Mercer as a freshman.

Lacy Ramon, a 6-1 forward from Mercer University, has joined the Cal State L.A. program, Jones said. Ramon was third on the Bears last season in scoring with 8.6 points per game and second in rebounding with 5.3 boards per contest.

LOS ANGELES – Leora Juster, a two-time California Collegiate Athletic Association Most Valuable Player, has been hired as a women’s basketball assistant coach at Cal State L.A., CSULA Head Coach Janell Jones announced on Thursday. Juster was a two-time NCAA Division II Kodak All-American and a two-time West Region Most Valuable Player while at UC San Diego.

LOS ANGELES – Cal State L.A.’s women’s basketball team has added another former NCAA Division I guard to its program, Golden Eagle head coach Janell Jones announced on Tuesday. Erika Ruiz, a guard from Saint Mary’s College, has joined the Cal State L.A. program, Jones said. Ruiz appeared in 54 games over two seasons with the Gaels.

LOS ANGELES – Cal State L.A.’s women’s basketball team has added talented guard Gretchen Tiernan to its program, Golden Eagle head coach Janell Jones announced on Thursday. Tiernan was a combo guard at the University of the Pacific, where she earned All-Big West honorable mention as a sophomore in 2009. She averaged 8.4 points per game and was especially effective from 3-point range.

LOS ANGELES – Janell Jones, who has accumulated 260 victories in previous stints at Mercer, UC San Diego and Oklahoma City, has been named the head women’s basketball coach at Cal State L.A., Director of Athletics Dan Bridges announced on Wednesday. Jones, who has spent the past three seasons at Division I Mercer, also formerly coached at UC San Diego.

LOS ANGELES -- Cal State L.A.’s women’s basketball team fielded one of youngest teams in the California Collegiate Athletic Association last season and the Golden Eagles, for a third straight season, fell short of qualifying for the CCAA Championship Tournament. The Golden Eagles finished with a 4-23 overall record and a 2-20 mark in conference play.
