LOS ANGELES – Cal State L.A.’s men’s basketball team, which qualified for the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championship Tournament for the second time in three years last season, has brought in five talented newcomers, Golden Eagle head coach Stephen Thompson announced. Franklin Session, David Norris, Ryan Wetherell, Bussey Ellis and Ozzie Morrison, have joined the program.

LOS ANGELES -- Cal State L.A.’s men’s basketball team used one of the nation’s top defenses to advance to the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championship Tournament for the second time in three seasons. The Golden Eagles were fifth in the country in field-goal percentage defense and 17th in the nation in scoring defense. Cal State L.A. finished the 2009-10 campaign with a 14-14 record.

POMONA -- Cal State L.A.'s men's basketball team saw its season come to an end Tuesday in a first-round California Collegiate Athletic Association Championship Tournament game. The No. 8 seed Golden Eagles put up a battle, but lost to No. 1 seed Cal Poly Pomona, 57-45, in Kellogg Gym. Cal State L.A., which is the last team to beat Cal Poly Pomona this season, wound up 14-14.

WALNUT CREEK – Cal State L.A.’s men’s basketball team placed two players on the All-California Collegiate Athletic Association teams announced by the conference on Tuesday. The game will follow a women's basketball tournament game at Pomona. Tickets for the game are $10 for general admission and $5 for students with I.D. LOS ANGELES – Cal State L.A.’s men’s basketball team will not enter the California Collegiate Athletic Association championship tournament with momentum. The Golden Eagles struggled down the stretch and lost a disappointing 68-62 decision to Chico State Friday in the Eagles Nest to conclude the regular season. Cal State L.A. slipped into a tie for sixth place in the conference and drew the No. 8 seed. Cal State L.A. will face No. 1 seed Cal Poly Pomona on Tuesday in Pomona.

LOS ANGELES – Cal State L.A.’s men’s basketball team finally put an end to a frustrating home losing streak. The Golden Eagles raced out to a 19-point halftime lead and beat Cal State Stanislaus, 75-59, Thursday night in a California Collegiate Athletic Association game in the Eagles Nest. Cal State L.A. (14-12, 10-11) moved into a four-way tie for fifth place in the conference with the victory.

LOS ANGELES – Cal State L.A.’s men’s basketball team saw another comeback bid fall short Saturday night, this time against Cal State San Bernardino in a big California Collegiate Athletic Association game in the Eagles Nest. The Golden Eagles sliced a 14-point halftime lead down to one point with less than 12 minutes to play, but lost to the Coyotes, 67-55, Saturday in the Eagles Nest.
