LA JOLLA -- Cal State L.A.'s men's team came oh-so-close to joining a logjam atop the California Collegiate Athletic Association. Instead, the Golden Eagles find themselves in a two-way tie for sixth place, one game back of five teams tied for first after a disappointing 57-56 loss at UC San Diego Friday night in RIMAC Arena. Cal State L.A. (13-6, 9-6 CCAA) is now tied with Sonoma State, one game back of conference leaders Cal State Dominguez Hills, Cal State San Bernardino, Cal Poly Pomona, Chico State and Humboldt State.
